Dr. Bobby Wood fills the role of Elder of Multiplication at Hope Chapel. He further serves the elder team by functioning as the Elder Chairman. Bobby’s work at Hope focuses on connecting church members to life groups and providing accountability to life group leaders by encouraging intentional and sacrificial discipleship among the church. Bobby seeks to develop life groups with the goal of multiplying the number of life groups and preparing more members for leadership within the church and within their communities. As a gifted administrator and a committed follower of Jesus, Bobby has served in a variety of leadership roles across the U.S. and beyond. He brings a depth of knowledge, a heart for relationships, and an enthusiasm for sharing the gospel to every role he fills. His influence and impact on Hope Chapel only continues to grow.
Bobby grew up in Greenville, SC, and first met Will Lohnes as a child in the church where Will led the youth group. Though he grew up in church, Bobby gave his life to Jesus as a college student, at which time he dedicated his life to spreading the gospel and making disciples. While still in school, Bobby helped start The Winds, a Christian camp on the big island of Hawaii. He and Will crossed paths again when Will planted a church in Hawaii and served on the founding board of The Winds. Under Bobby’s leadership, the camp grew to a much larger ministry including Christian Liberty Academy, which is still in operation today. Bobby eventually left Hawaii to serve as the Chief Operating Officer of Northland International University in Dunbar, Wisconsin, from 2002 to 2011. He was then called to move overseas to work as the Minister of Education at Harvest Ministries in Guam. In that position he oversaw strategic planning and activities of both Harvest Christian Academy and Harvest Baptist Bible College. Stateside once more in 2015, Bobby’s passion for ministry and discipleship brought him to Will again as Bobby sought to connect a young Polynesian Christian to a pastoral mentor in the U.S. This reconnection soon brought Bobby, along with his wife Robin, to join the work at Hope Chapel. Bobby and Robin have been married for 23 years and have three children.
